Homemade Facial Mud Mask

If you have a problem with oily skin, mud may be the answer. A facial mud mask can draw and trap oils. While there are many commercial facial mud masks available, you can also make your own at home.

Things You'll Need


  • 1½ tsp French clay (premixed or dry powder)
  • ½ Kaolin clay ( premixed or dry powder)
  • 1½ Aloe Vera gel
  • 1 tbsp rosewater
  • 2 drops rose essential oil

Instructions


    • 1
      Mix French clay and kaolin clay together. If using the powder forms of clay, mix with water until smooth. Green clay can be substituted for French clay.

      Add aloe vera gel, rosewater and oil and stir until mixture becomes a thick paste.

      Cleanse skin with facial soap and warm water. Pat dry.

      Smooth mud mask over face starting with sides of the face and forehead.

      Allow mask to dry on face between 10-15 minutes.

      Rinse your face with warm water and pat dry.
    • 7
      Refrigerate remaining mask for up to four weeks and apply once a week.
