Dry Skin

Dry skin is a common problem, often requiring heavily moisturizing lotions to get the flakiness under control. However, using creams infused with mint or a diluted mint oil on your skin can increase the amount of moisture the skin holds in, thus reducing the cracked appearance.

Blackheads

You can also use mint to treat blackheads. Mix three mint leaves with 1 cup of boiling water, to create an astringent or toner to swipe over your face. This will soothe inflammation and help to shrink the pores, making blackheads slowly fade over time. For an added punch, add a bit of orange peel and 1 tbsp. of witch hazel to the mix.

Acne

Acne is a common skin problem that affects people of all ages. However, many of the over-the-counter treatments are too harsh for the skin, stripping away moisture and causing more harm than good. Dab a bit of mint-based toothpaste on troublesome pimples and watch them shrink overnight. Just make sure to test a small spot first, as toothpaste can irritate some people's skin.

Foot Moisturizer

The skin of the feet is tough. It has to be to survive all of that walking around you do day in and day out. However, this means your feet are likely rough, dry and not-so pretty to look at. One potential remedy is to mix together an unscented lotion with a bit of mint extract. Then, apply this lotion to your feet each night. The skin will be noticeably softer right away and the texture will improve within a week of repeated applications.
